Hyderabadi Tahari

Ingredients

Tomato – 4 big

Coriander – 1 bunch

Green Chilies – 8 *** Grind these 3 to a soft puree

Rice – 3 cups

Masoor ki Dal or Lentils – ½ cup

Meat – 200gms

Ginger and Garlic Paste – 4 tsp

Red Chili powder – 1tbsp

Turmeric – a pinch

Salt – to taste

Curd – 200gm

Water – 1 Cup

Potato – 2 Big

Coriander (for garnishing in the end) – 1 Bunch

Mint – 1 Bunch

Garam Masala Powder – ½ tsp


Method

1.       Take a vessel , heat oil and finely chopped onions and ginger garlic paste.

2.       Add meat and fry for 10 mins.

3.       Add red chili powder, Turmeric, salt, curd, tomato puree and 1 cup water.

4.       Add potato cut into 4’s or 8’s

5.       Cook till the oil Separates, add rice and lentils and juice of 1 lime

6.       Add enough water for the rice to cook.

7.       When 90% done add finely chopped coriander , mint and garam masala – Shut the lid and steam it till totally cooked.
